If you want to take Vienna, take Vienna

According to history, Napoleon famously said one day: "If you want to take Vienna, then just take Vienna."
What he meant was straightforward: when you've got your eyes on a prize, zero in and nail it. As we all know, he was pretty good at this game until he made the mistake to bumble into Russia in winter and ended up getting served at Waterloo.
Hiring interns? It's pretty much the same thing going on.
If you're serious about hooking up with young talent, don't get sidetracked by the bells and whistles.
Focus on forging genuine connections. Take the time to get to know these budding stars. Make sure what you're offering them isn't just another internship, but a killer experience. Apps and tech toys? Sure, they're cool, but they're not the main event—they're distractions.
So, want to recruit interns? Then just recruit interns.
And smarter still, if you want to recruit cleverly; recruit cleverly.
And don’t invade Russia in the dead of winter.
